Maintenance Information for Stainless Steel Hood

The stainless steel range hood you’ve purchased is constructed using 16 gauge solid
stainless steel and has been treated with a clear lacquer, which helps to prevent
tarnish. Yet it is important to remember that even the strongest lacquer cannot take
the place of responsible care and maintenance. Kindly note the maintenance
information below to properly care for your stainless steel range hood.

DO

Hood Surface
Clean the exterior surfaces of the metal range hood cover periodically with a mild
detergent in warm water or a stainless steel cleaner and a clean cotton cloth and
wipe with the grain of the metal. Wipe clean and dry with a cloth or paper towel.
Hood Insert
If the range hood liner (stainless steel) looks splotchy, use a stainless steel cleaner to
clean the surface of the hood insert. Avoid getting cleaning solution onto or into the
control panel, Follow directions of the stainless steel cleaner, CAUTION: Do not leave
on too long as this may cause damage to the hood finish.
Use a soft towel to wipe off the cleaning solution, gently tub off any stubborn spots.
Use a dry soft towel to dry the range hood insert.
After cleaning, you may use non-abrasive stainless steel polish such as 3M® or ZEP”,
to polish and buff out the stainless luster and grain. Always scrub lightly, with a clean
cotton cloth, and with the grain.
Hood Filter/Grease Container
1. Remove the hood filter and grease container.

soap warm water
